  1. I consume lots of olive oil everyday, but I have also heard that avocado oil is very good for you. Can you elaborate more on avocado oil, and possibly give a comparison of the two of them? thank you

  2. Thank you Dr Gundry! Is there a specific Olive Oil brand you recommend? There are so many brands to choose from that I would like get the best one to get the best results. Thank you for all that you do in order to better our health. God bless🙏

  3. Thanks Dr G, and don't forget the other question about cooking with Olive oil which you mentioned (in another interview you did) isn't as evil as once thought, based on the fact that the oxidation level is different to the smoke point. Thanks as always!!! Rowan

  4. I eat A LOT of high-polyphenol olive oil. My question is – can I cook with it in small amounts? I'm talking about using it to sauté vegetables and not using it to fry.

  5. One thing Americans got wrong about how we Mediterranean consume olive oil is that actually we use as daily basis regular refined olive oil for cooking, deep frying and just virgin olive oil when its served on salads or any other food that doesn't require cooking. So yes we got x2 bottles at home and no, we don't only consume virgin olive oil, it's a cost effective thing. Virgin olive oil is not a cheap thing.

  6. You're talking pure Olive oil or the stuff we buy off the shelves? from what I know, the ones in the store is not pur and is mixed with third party oils for profit. How does one get pure olive oil?

  7. The world is so confusing. The Whole Food Plant Based diet adherents are often citing the "Blue Zones," especially Ikaria, but they, in the next breath, claim that Olive Oil is as "bad" as, or worse than saturated fat.
I've been slathering my steamed veg with Olive Oil ever since I lived/studied in Spain in the 70's and have no plans to stop.
Eating "lectin free," however will prove to be a much bigger challenge! 😉

  8. What about the prickly pear fruit ? (it is fruit of a cactus)
Here in Greece it can be found in the summer in the super markets. It seems to have very little sugar and seeds like the passion fruit.

  9. Yes all oil including olive oil causes insulin resistance which cause diabetes it also clogs the arteries according to all studies ever done so peoples opinions dont matter all the science is there

  10. what about the after meal effect that oil has on Arteries?
    Decreased FMD (Flow Mediated Dilation)
Dr Gregor Cites Studies on this topic.
in the context of a Low Fat, whole Foods, plant based diet

in the context of a Standard American Diet.
    the Perceivable improvements are Relative

    also,
what does "Low Fat" mean? because there is a wide range of meaning, its too ambiguous.
    & Context is very important!
I tend to trust the perspective of my insurance company Kaiser Permanente,

    personally,
I got a variety of Olive oil that is very high in polyphenols & i use very small amounts, because i get discomfort/pain if i eat too much of any oil.
(the poly content degrades after its spent some time in the pantry)

  11. Thank you for all the work you do.
I'm Greek and I eat around 5lt of olive oil a month, probably a bit less in winter. I don't eat grain and eat close to zero sugar for years. If you see my salad you'll think I use the vegetables to eat my oil, rather than use the oil to eat my vegetables. I also don't eat meat for the last 40 years, but I never gave up fish, I eat fish or seafood an average of 1,5 times a week. I'm 59, I remember I got an antibiotic one time in 1995 (Ospen, for tensils' infection, streptococus) that's that. Blood pressure doctors think is low (10-6.5) because they envy it.

  12. I 😘 ve olive oil. I used it in everything. I used to put butter in my toast but now I put olive oil and it's taste so good that I'm eating everyday in the morning it's help u with ur digestion and go to the bathroom if u re constipate. Hi from Miami. God bless u doctor couse u always teach us new thinks and improved the way we are eating for get a great health life.

  13. Over 1100 calories per day in olive oil…hope you can get by with of 1200 or so calories for the rest of your daily food or you will end up obese and diabetic in very short time.
