Homemade Lentil Soup Recipe

This scrumptious Lentil soup recipe is jam-packed with spices and caramelized greens to result in a surprisingly flavorful soup. This is among the easiest-to-make maximum nutritious soups on my website and the style is past wonderful.

Lentils are a legume this is indigenous to the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Countries. They are seeds of a plant which can be jam full of fiber, potassium and protein and make for an excellent meat substitute.

Since lentils are starchy, earthy in taste, and will also be at the bland facet, there are lots of techniques to lead them to flavorful together with through including them into soup. When different components are presented that go with lentils like onions, garlic, spices, and lemon, the style is out of this global.

There are many permutations of lentil soup relying on the place you are living so don’t be stunned when you see other components in it. My model is a lot more of a Middle Eastern Lebanese taste.

  1. Bonjour Chef Parisi, thank you for this superb recipe. Having gone through many recipe videos, I easily award you top grades for your commendable skills to communicate. I should know: now retired, I've trained communications students for over 40 years. You would have passed my tough courses with flying colours. Congratulations Chef!

  3. Yum!! I make mine similar…just with a Mexican twist. I also add Roma tomatoes, Serrano peppers and bacon bits. Lentils are comfort food! Thank you for all of your videos!

  4. I’m amazed to hear that the majority of Americans still consume canned soups and think this is a new recipe. My grandmother made this exact same lentil soup over 45 years ago and it was just one of the many dishes that I learned to cook as a child. Cooking is a skill which should be absolutely taught at home. Thanks grandma,

  5. Thank you for the great recipe. I have regular brown lentils par cooked in the freezer and wanted to find a good soup recipe for them. I use red lentils a lot because they don't need soaking and cook quickly. Learned to poach chicken Mexican style and have wonderful broth at home now. A pleasure to find simple recipes that give great results!

  6. I made it tonight, without adding carrots & celeries b'coz i don't have. It came out very delicious me & my little sister loved it so much & eaten it fully. Thanks for great recipe.

  7. I signed up for your channel right away. It is truly fantastic. I just opened a channel dedicated to traditional Italian cuisine. It is very nice to see your recipes and discover cuisines from all over the world. We Italians use few spices and sauces and rely more on technique, our culture is based more on the exaltation of the main ingredient. You are very good 😋😋😋

  8. You can use Turmeric instead of Cumin, if you don't have Cumin…
    Great substitute.
Also used chicken stock, no water, fresh Cilantro and salt, pepper. Topped it off in bowl with fresh Cilantro, dash of Olive Oil, fresh grated Parm cheese. 😘
