  1. Hey everyone, I've been getting a lot of questions on this video and I just wanna quickly give some updates:
It's been well over a year and my scar never came back, my piercing is fully healed and doesn't hurt when I touch it. I wanted to post this video giving a break down of my personal treatment plan and what worked for me. Just because it worked for me, doesn't mean it will work for everyone. I do hope that it helps though and maybe can be a solution to some. Definitely keep sharing your treatments and help each other out in the comments to say what worked for you. Do not use just any tea tree oil- you need to make sure it says its for cuts, pimples, abrasions, etc and can be safe to use on skin. Some oils are for aromatherapy only and cannot be used on skin. Thank you so much for watching my video and I wish you all the best 💖😁
    xoxo,
    Doreen

  2. Hey, i watched this video a while back & purchased the tea tree oil the following day. It's now been roughly 3 weeks and I'm starting to notice some changes, the scarring is starting to get smaller. Thank you sm.💜

  3. I’ve had my tragus pierced and about a month or two into the healing, I noticed a keloid forming. There was nothing I could do until after Christmas so I just had to keep cleaning it with water (not salt because salt dries my ears). I went back to my piercer and she recommended hydrogen peroxide and I’ve used it for the first time, holding it on my keloid for 5 minutes. So far, it’s gone super hard and crusty just about 10 minutes after treating it. I’ll update this comment if anything else happens 🙂
Update: My keloid had gone down so much. I went from barely being able to see my jewellery to being able to see more of the jewellery than the keloid. I bought some tea tree oil as well as using Hydrogen Peroxide to maximise the amount it is going down. Although the only thing about the Hydrogen Peroxide is it really dries out the skin on my hand but putting on gloves while using it has helped a lot. Also, for anyone else seeing this who has a keloid, don’t use the rubber band method for your keloid. It can seriously infect the area once it falls off and you’re literally ripping scar tissue off your skin, therefore it can come back bigger. Just a heads up for anyone thinking of using that method.

  4. It's been 3 months since I had my piercing and I started to notice a bump last week and it got bigger now. Not gonna lie, I was not able to clean it as much as I did during the first month and I also slept on it a lot of times. Oh the regret I'm feeling now… I wish the bump would die down soon. Lesson learned for real.

  5. Please beware !! Tea tree oil is seriously concentrated, must be diluted before it is used on skin. Find a professional piercer and ask for advice. Most piercers recommend using warm saline solution soaks to heal your keloid.

  6. do you know if it was just an irritation bump or if it was actually a raised scar? I had an irritation bump on my belly button piercing and this method is how i got rid of it; however I have one on my conch too but i think it is a hypertrophic scar

  7. I worked at Claire’s for almost a year and I just quit like a month ago. Do not get pierced here lol we are not properly trained and I think I started piercing my 3rd day and I was told to practice on cardboard ears. I was forced to do piercings by my managers or my store which I ran by myself, would have to have people come in to watch me work all day to see what I was doing “wrong”. I was like newly 18 and NOT a trained professional like they say we are.

  8. oh my gosh finally a great video showing exactly my problem. I got my industrial piercing about two months ago and I developed a really bad scar on the inside. I did get lazy with cleaning it but now that I've seen this video I'll try to clean it thoroughly everyday. hopefully it'll go away.

  9. Made the same mistake and went to the mall and also got lazy. Ear got infected and had the same bump and I just had to remove it and it healed over. I went to a piercer and had it done on the other ear. Must say, it's been healing well and feels much better!!

  10. i’m 2 months away from my helix being a year. i’ve been using tea tree oil inconsistently and i do notice it drying down but other times, i notice it getting bigger again? i’ll try doing it more consistently

update: 1 month~ of consistency with this method and today, i’ve noticed that it looks completely gone. sometimes it would swell up and other times calm, but now it’s basically nonexistent 🙂

  11. Hello everyone, I got my helix pierced in mid January, it is now almost the end of April (3-4 months) I had it done with a needle at the same place I had my nose pierced and I never had any issues with my nose. However with my helix, on and off I kept getting a bump similar to what is in this video but not quite as big. Recently I have had it for two weeks, and it’s been totally hard which had me freaked out thinking it was a keloid. I found this video, and yesterday morning I went out and bought dessert essence organic Australian tea tree oil. I used a q-tip and directly applied it in the morning and in the afternoon and again last night. Last night my bump was all red and soft, and my piercing was pussing, which I took as a very good sign! This morning it’s seriously almost gone, no longer red or pussing, and my piercing in general feels really good and not sore for the first time in weeks. My piercer recommended not ever using hydrogen peroxide as it kills both the good and the bad, drys out the skin, and can almost prevent it from healing. It’s better used short term and not for long term wounds like a piercing. I have been using an iodine antiseptic, however I think there can be such thing as too much of a good thing, and it might be best to alternate natural methods, such as tea tree oil and hot salt water soaks with antiseptic cleaners so that our bodies can naturally fight off infection and heal properly. I’m going to continue using tea tree oil for the week and probably after too! So glad I found this video, I am kinda blown away by how well it worked for me . Thank you! (also I’m a tummy sleeper and I have just had to practice sleeping on my back with this piercing,, so I feel peoples pain! It’s hard!)

  12. I skipped like 3 days spraying saline solution and realized how sensitive my ears are to helix piercing. I got the bump after a month of getting it. LOL don't stop upkeeping your piercing aftercare!

  13. Which earring did you get? Is that a titanium earring? I got my first piercing at Claire’s too and got the same bump as yours. I got scared and tried to take the earring off, right now it’s healed, I triple to get another piercing but at a professional piercer this time using a needle. I hope not to get the bump again.

  14. I am annoyed at my piercer now. My helix is my first and only piercing, and I wasn’t warned about the complications of getting a ring instead of a stud for a new earring. They just gave me the option, and me thinking that a ring would look cooler, went for that instead of a stud. Only after being told by friends did I find out that you are only meant to get studs first so the hole can heal straight and properly, then get a ring later. I wish I had been advised on that, otherwise I would have gotten a stud first despite that not being what I wanted. I would always take the advice of my piercer. It’s been four months now and I have a keloid that is really bugging me now. I’ve tried taking my helix out to eliminate the scar problem, but I can’t.
