The problem is with the brands that mix sources. Italian brands do this the most. They get fake oil at a cheaper price from other places and then still sell it full price. Always buy one source like Partana which is scicilian. I’ve never seen a Spanish brand with mixed sources.

Sorry, but you need to be properly informed, Italy is scamming you saying that the olive oil that they sell is made in Italy because is not, it's made in Spain. They buy excellent olive oil from spain ( 60% of all the production of all the country) and mix it with low quality italian olive oil, put a sticker on it and they sell it as excellent italian olive oil. Spain is number one world producer at the world in quantity and quality, Italy can only dream to be the half of the half as good as Spain. but one thing is true they know how to lie to the consumers. They are doing the same as asian countries do to the US honey producers.
But misinformed consumers still thinking they are buying the best and know anything about olive oil when they say italian olive oil is the best, it is a plain and simple lie.

Bits and pieces of info but not a true story, leaving many gaps to wonder about:
What they did with the fly
What they did with the bacteria
What kinds of olive oils these Italian producers make after the EVOO, e.g. pomace oil, virgin oil, light oil
The tester did not explain how a rancid oil smells or tastes !!! He just said it did
He did not say where the oil he tasted as rancid came from, bec the viewer is led to believe it’s from one of the Italian producers the reporter interviewed (the young man and the lady) !!!

Poi mi parlate di olio di oliva menzionando la Tunisia, senza parlare di come viene coltivato, conservato e come questo in quale stato di igiene viene spedito e commercializzato.
