Buongiorno! This episode I interview the caretaker of the farm the place we are renovating the rooster coop and turning it into just a little rustic one-bedroom condo. Egisto has lived in this hill in Tuscany for 81 years and has a lot to show me in regards to the historical past of the farm and the old fashioned way of living within the nation-state in Italy. Spring is nearly right here so I attempted to movie the flowering timber and vegetation that at the moment are in bloom. I consider it’s respectful to take into consideration a spot’s historical past earlier than beginning a renovation or development venture so this can be a little tribute to the bygone technology and the dolce vita this is slowly disappearing from villas and nation farmhouses throughout Italy. You can in finding many extra videos on my channel about how I discovered Italian and moved to Italy. 1. Thank you so much for watching. The music in the intro is ‘Fantastica’ from 1958 performed by Nicola Arigliano. While I know many people love the ‘renovation’ part, I also want to create a community here who believe in researching a place’s history and cultivating a sensitivity to what has come before us. Hope you like it. 😊🙏

  2. Very cool that you gave time & respect to the hard workers of the property. What a treasure to have such loyal, knowledgeable, & decent people working the farm for all those years.

  3. Wow what an amazing interview, Kylie! Such a horrible piece of history and wild to think that first hand conversations like this will cease to exist at some point in the near future.

  4. Thank you for this fascinating history of the farm during WW2; eye witness accounts of that time are a precious and dwindling treasure trove – so thank you for preserving a piece of that history through these videos! Gather as many stories as you can, while you can…

  5. Listening to this brings tears to my eyes. Hearing the Italian and the old stories makes me miss my parents, both now deceased, both from Italy. I am the only family member to be born in the US but I was lucky enough to bring my mom back to Italy and spend time listening to her stories as she traveled back in time in her own mind but walked the actual steps she took. There were stories of joy and stories of sorrow and I treasure each one.

  6. ❤️❤️❤️ I absolutely loved this video. Your conversation with the gentleman was so loving and interesting. I loved to hear the culture of the old days. I loved the old photos. I loved hearing you two speak Italian… it was beautiful. You are such a gifted artist. Your videos are pure joy and so interesting and inspiring. You are quite amazing. God bless you and Guido I your amazing life Together. I always enjoy your channel, it couldn’t be better❣️🌷🌷🌷

  7. Wow! He was 81 at that time when this video was made, he looks great! I didn't think he was 81, he looked much younger. God bless him, all that hard work, and healthy homegrown veggies, great olive oil, and cheeses, wine and so much more keeps him happy and healthy. He is proof eating well, and doing what you love keeps you healthy. Since it's now 2022, he is 82 years old, I bet nothing has changed. He must still be looking young and healthy as ever! I just love hearing stories like this! 💖
