  1. I don’t think she was accurately describing the plant docs. They don’t just focus on fiber content and tell people to eat powders and bars. They would probably fall over if they heard this. They are militant about food but they stress over and over and over to get fiber from fruits and vegetables and other whole plant food. I just wanted to clarify as it was not a fair assessment. They tell people to avoid powders and bars like the plague.

  2. Oil, no matter what the source, is 100% fat, and fat has 9 calories per gram. I agree olive oil can be beneficial, especially when compared to something like canola oil, but I would say anyone looking to lose weight be very careful with the amount they use. You can end up easily adding upwards of 350 calories to an otherwise healthy salad.
