The use of olive pulp for cooking has become widespread in Gaza, where the fuel crisis has deepened due to the full embargo imposed by Israel on the blockaded Gaza Strip and the attacks added to it. Due to the lack of gas in the Gaza Strip, the scarcity and high cost of firewood, the use of compressed olive pulp (peat) for cooking and bread making has become widespread. In Rafah city, the family of Palestinian Salah Keshta uses compressed olive pulp (peat) as fuel and distributes some of it to neighbours.
