A information to taking care of your olive bushes. Together with guidelines in repotting, planting, positioning and drainage.
Please talk over with my website and garden Store right here:
I purchased 4 same old #olive #bushes about 4 years in the past. The target used to be so as to add some peak to my small field (buxus sempervirens) potager #garden. They price round thirty kilos each and every and they have got been nice crops. They’ve coped with the British wintry weather really well and I haven’t any proceedings. On the other hand, lately I checked out some outdated pictures and spotted that the olive bushes appear to be suffering just a little. The #leaves and #foliage have misplaced a few of their color, the branches have long past just a little straggly and leggy and the crops total appear to have misplaced vigour. I believe it is because they’re in pots and they’re more than likely able to be re-potted into some recent nutrient wealthy #compost. Possibly they’re pot certain and their roots want get right of entry to to recent soil. So I have determined it is time to repot them.
I got rid of the crops from their pots, I saved the black stone chips from on most sensible which I will be able to use along some crocks to assist with drainage. Those have supplied a very good weed suppressant and #mulch. Crops in pots receive advantages through now not having pageant from weeds.
I purchased better pots from homebase. They’re plastic however they’ll now not be unmarried use. I love to have a sustainable technique to my gardening. It is higher for the enviroment and ecosystem.
The spent compost from across the roots will probably be used as a mulch round my rhubarb plant.
I drilled some drainage holes into the ground of each and every pot and added some #crocks which can be necessarily items of damaged terracotta plant pots. those permit extra water to empty out. I purchased 3 luggage of fifty litres basic all function compost produced through growmore.
Please subscribe to my channel and hit the notifications bell and I will be able to stay you up to date at the development of the olive bushes.

What kind of soil mix do we need for a potted olive tree?

You are a gardeners gardener! Don’t apologise for buying plants and compost from supermarkets, Morrison’s sell an enormous range of good quality plants, pots and compost for very reasonable prices. Garden centres are very expensive in comparison.
