Hi, do you have a good cooked recipe for macaroni salad. My mom used to make a cooked recipe on the stove eggs, vinegar, sugar, and a little water
Cook on stove till mixture comes thick like a pudding
Remove from stove and cool add mayonnaise, little mustard to taste and little french salad dressing
This is a delicious dressing for macaroni or potato salad.

This recipe is the closest I have ever had to my mother's. She was a simple country lady and had perfected a way of cooking things that eliminated the unnecessary and concentrated on the things that made a recipe sooo good. The only difference I think is that she didn't use peppers in her mac salad, and sometimes she would add small cubes of cheddar.
Anyway, thanks for the recipe, It's very good.

For easy peeling, drop raw eggs into boiling water to cook.
I am glad that you talk about, and used the PICKLE JUICE. I've been using it for years (I also cheat and use dill or sweet relish instead of cutting up pickles)…but the pickle brine/juice really adds a good flavor

AYYYYY this recipe is bombbb! I added corn and substituted the celery with red kidney beans! it adds so much more texture and flavor to the recipe, and I also added canned pineapples and chopped them up! tastes amazziinggg!! if you see this comment I suggest you add those things it'll add such amazing toches to the recipee!!

Hint. Yes peppers can have a tough skin and be skippery. I cut in half, seed and keep the pepper cut side up on my board. In other words don't put cut side down. Cut the inner flesh first in strips.
