Why is the shortage of palm oil perceived as bad? It's actually a blessing. Palm oil is freaking extremely unhealthy so it's way better for us when this crappy oil gets less or none at all in our food.
I wish our Canadian farms could produce more safflower and sunflower oil. Canola is highly processed so I try to avoid it. I'd like to see more pastured dairy products too.

Because there was a rush demand for sunflower oil. Russia and Ukraine are the largest suppliers of sunflower oil. But this is not the only vegetable oil. Other countries produce olive, grape, corn, sesame, etc. oils. In addition, Argentina, Romania and China also supply sunflower oil.
