Let’s CUT THROUGH the FAT!! Let’s check out THE 5 WORST OILS TO CONSUME!! Watch until the finish for the plot twist…
Criteria
– Omega-6 PUFA
– Processing & Nutrient Density
– Prevalence
Grapeseed oil
Omega-6 PUFA: 70% Omega-6! Higher than every other cooking oil.
Processing & Nutrient Density: Usually extracted the use of hexane, a poisonous chemical solvent and in addition heated, destructive the fragile 70% Omega-6.
Highly delicate with principally no micronutrients except for for a hint quantity of nutrition E. Hazelnut oil has 15-occasions as a lot nutrition E.
Prevalence: Common, particularly in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Other feedback:
Produced for economical causes. Wine making leaves left over grape seeds. Grape seed oil extraction generates a sellable byproduct this is as excellent as wine shit.
Soybean oil
Omega-6 PUFA: ~50%.
Processing & Nutrient Density: Usually extracted the use of hexane, a poisonous chemical solvent and in addition heated and occasionally even hydrogenated.
Highly delicate and not using a micronutrients except for for a bit little bit of nutrition Okay.
Prevalence: Extremely commonplace, particularly in trade and eating place cooking.
Other feedback:
If you wish to have soybean oil, prime-oleic acid kinds of soybean had been artificially decided on; then again, I will’t consider a situation the place you can want soybean oil in any respect.
Corn oil
Omega-6 PUFA: ~60%.
Processing & Nutrient Density: Usually extracted the use of hexane, a poisonous chemical solvent, bleached, and in addition heated up to 500°F!

Canola oil
Omega-6 PUFA: 28%.
Processing & Nutrient Density: Almost all the time chemically processed.
Contains just a little little bit of nutrients E and Okay. It does comprise a good quantity of oleic acid, however now not sufficient that there’s ever a reason why to use it over avocado oil or different impartial-tasting cooking oil choices.
Prevalence: The maximum commonplace oil processed vegetable oil present in processed meals in grocery shops. Its ridiculous abundance is why it makes the checklist.
Other feedback:
If you wish to have canola oil, prime-oleic acid types artificially decided on.
REFINED Coconut oil
Omega-6 PUFA: Basically none.
Processing & Nutrient Density: Heated and incessantly bleached. This kills the superb antioxidants in would-be virgin coconut oil
Rich in lauric acid (~50%), which is probiotic. Contains ~15% MCTs.
Prevalence: Common.
Other feedback:
Review articles and meta-analyses state that coconut oil is dangerous for center well being; then again, they fail to differentiate between processed and virgin/uncooked coconut merchandise. When you dig into the research that they analyzed, those who used virgin coconut oil had certain well being results and people who used delicate had unfavorable results. Because there are extra research the use of the latter than the former, coconut oil will get a nasty identify.
According to a brand spanking new overview article on coconut oil, printed in the magazine of Mechanisms of Aging and Development 2020, the two research that experience used virgin coconut oil document vital elevations in ‘good’ HDL ldl cholesterol and no adjustments in LDL ldl cholesterol, whilst all different scientific studies the use of delicate coconut oil document higher in LDL ldl cholesterol. This is almost certainly from lauric acid reducing LDL receptors on the liver, main to an build up in small dense “bad” LDL.

How about sunflower seed oil?
You mean rapeseed oil?
Why am I getting a lot of mixed opinions on Grapeseed oil!?!
Surprised you didn't include sunflower oil. Its far worse than the coconut you mentioned.
What about black seed oil?
Chic-fil-a I mean soy-fil-a better get on board. I was embarrassing eating it way too much and lost my vision on two occasions. I’m thankful for such a simple cute tho. It brought my attention to just how bad soy bean oil is for me and now I’ve completely cut it out.
Camer angle at 5:03 😂
Blatantly obvious fellow BPATOL victim
Black Seed Oil should be on this list – total scam
1:24. What if grapeseed oil says it is expeller pressed? No hexane then? On the jar it says high smoke point, temperatures up to 420 deg F. What say you? Thanks
Did we cover safflower oil? Thanks
Some cold-pressed or extra virgin coconut oil (VCO or EVCO) can actually go rancid if not consumed fairly quickly. This is something a lot of people don't know can happen. The reason it does is probably because the oil has some suspended solids (like lignans?) that may decompose. It is for this reason that some coconut oil producers refine the oil. However, refining doesn't necessarily mean heating. It could just be filtering. If bleaching isn't done (and it usually isn't for VCO), this is all good.
Note that I'm not talking of large scale commercial oil production using heavy mechanical presses and high temperatures and pressure. Such methods are usually reserved for non-edible coconut oil for cosmetic purposes. This is because the coconut flesh of even spoiled, mold-covered nuts is used. The extracted oil then has to be further refined and bleached.
But some edible coconut oil is extracted using heat, but it is still labelled as virgin or extra virgin oil because low heat is used. There's 2 ways heat can be used: 1. First extract coconut cream by manually pressing the shredded coconut flesh. Then pour the cream into a pot with water and gently simmer. Doing this separates the oil and you can scoop or decant it from the top. 2. You can just place shredded coconut flesh in a pot on low heat and extract the oil as it separates out. Both heating methods use fairly low temperatures, and coconut oil is very stable, so the oil still qualifies as VCO. I really don't think that either way drastically affects the quality.
Why use heat, though? Mainly because it produces a very clear oil with a wonderful aroma, while also removing all suspensions and ensuring the oil can't go rancid.
I thought I'd just put in my two cents.
According to this study (PMID: 27559299), grape seed oil is very beneficial with its antioxidant content. Does it become unhealthy if it's used for cooking, is that what you mean?
https://youtu.be/t6DlOOefEK8
Watching this after just having eaten a blueberry muffin from Whole Foods, which has canola oil! Cmon Whole Foods! Give me some muffins made with butter or avocado oil!
But you didn't include palm oil/palm kernel oil on this list 😐👎?.
Oils to avoid
1. Grapeseed oil
me eating eggs made in grapeseed oil right now
👁👄👁
You totally misunderstand Canola Oil. It has NOTHING to do with processing rapeseed oil into an edible food product. Canola is a plant specifically bred for human consumption. You need to do some better research on this.
in europe rape and grape seed is in everything in grocery store… how is this stuff not illegal yet?
You should research grape seed oil further. (Pompeian) 20% vitamin e contains no hexane. 😂
How about cold pressed organic canola from Switzerland?
You forgot to explain what omega-6 is and why it’s bad
what about Expeller Pressed Canola Oil? -its in whole foods 360 mayo
Does anybody know if it’s ok to use topically?
What about sunflower oil. I see that in my fav almond milk with zero sugar. So disappointed if my favorite almond milk is bad. It tastes great and no SUGAR!
Damn, I've been using grapeseed oil for my cooking for the past 15 years because of its high smoke point
Rapeseed has the best balance of good fats, near the lowest saturated and a 2.1 balance of omega 3s and 6s. Best by far, and its cooking temp is perfect when eating high protein. Olive oil of any form isn't good, whether you lie to yourself or others saturated fat is badddddd and a no go. Rapeseed/canola oil isn't bad ffs, yes the chemical compound could cause cancer but rapeseed oil and canola which is practically the same is known to lower cholesterol and blood sugar wayyyyyy better than olive oil or extra virgin olive oil. The irony, olive oil can cause the same problems as rapeseed as you should never fry food with olive oil. Rapeseed is perfect for temps around 450, olive oil is compromised above 200 which means it can burn and release carcinogenic chemicals into the food your cooking. Canola is lethal when going restaurants, it's about consuming products in moderation people. You don't ever look at anything but the fat content, if your using an oil with a higher saturated fat than mono or poly it's a no go and that's ever olive oil you can buy. The only reason they think it's healthy is due to meds, people in Italy and pain etc… Are less prone to heart attacks but that's not because of the oil they use 😂 can be anything. There's over a million things in this world good for heart health and bad for heart health, hell even wine can promote good heart health so what's to say its not their daily consumption of wine that boosts cardiovascular health
what about turnip seed oil?
I know a fat guy who is now very thin as he simply abandoned seed oils. I NEVER eat outside because of this. I know ALL restaurants use the cheapest oil by the ounce (unit cost) to maximize profit. but I have not checked chipotle. isn't that a healthy place? I think they use seed oils too in some of their stuff that is not raw/fresh like spinach leaves etc.
Just bought a bottle of grapeseed oil… after using a bottle of olive pomace oil XD I'm fked
He missed out the poisonous oil – COTTON SEED OIL …. the most dangerous toxic oil of all – it causes CANCER!
Cotton is a non-food product treated with an intense amount of chemical pesticides.
It is widely used here in USA cuz its very cheap used – should be banned.
How do you feel about Safflower oil?
Mr D, what do you think of perilla oil for cooking?
Awww i hoped i had watched this video before buying the grapeseed oil today 😩
Ty! I thought it was good oil. My nutritionist told me the same thing.
6:23 stop. So coconut or olive oil?
Watch this about Canola Oil: https://youtu.be/7yni_vP6Mnk
This clip makes a lot of sense…..
Only fats you should be consuming is healthy coconut oil thats not processed. Olive oil for baking. Extra virgin olive oil for cooking, and animal fats!
I'm from the UK 🇬🇧 a popular oil here which I use daily is Rapeseed oil please tell me its not another name for grapeseed oil this side of the pond? It says its cold pressed. Is it a good thing or not ?
