The majority of extra virgin olive oil on the grocery retailer is pretend! That means the oil rancid, reduce with cheaper oils, and doesn’t meet the necessities to be extra virgin olive oil. Stick with single origin extra virgin olive oil from a trusted supply, I might solely purchase a handful of olive oil manufacturers to prepare dinner with, most of them are talked about on this video. Hope you discover this useful!

  1. We don’t want your personal opinions on olive oil, we want results from the UC Davis study like you did on avocado oil. You don’t pull the level of influence you think and many like me don’t take your word for it. Many just want the studies results. The Costco Kirkland oil was a huge red flag you may be paid for these promos as with the wine you flashed to us.

  2. You have not focus on avocado oil nor recommended which bottle is preferable. You talked 99.9% about olive oil, I read you can cook with it in a low heat unlike the avocado oil.

  3. THe only time I had real OO, I was a Child. Long ago… The aroma is something that is burned into my brain. When we put Olive oil in our food, the smell would fill the place. These poisons that we get now should be banned. All these companies are criminal and nothing is done about it.

  4. The Kirkland choice wasn’t it’s organic one ?we choose their organic extra virgin was that the better one over the one you had both Kirkland one not organic

  5. I will only buy olive oil that has the olive oil association seal on it….I'm actually quite surprised you didn't mention that(nor did anyone in the comments) My fave is Aldi's organic extra virgin olive oil.

  6. Hello from Manchester. Very good tips thanks again. Indeed extra virgin is very expensive. Unfortunately most of us are buying oils from cheap supermarkets, as this is what we can afford. My family back home.w in Greece is having olive trees. Every year we produce out own olive oil. So far I am lucky every year to have my own produces olive oils. I must stress you the fact that Italian olive oil is usually fake olive oil. Is mixes with Greek, and other oils. Try to avoid if you can. But the Kalamata olives along with the olive oil are one of the best oils in the world.

  7. How do we know if it’s good? I don’t have a Costco membership. I do have a Sam’s Club membership. Shouldn’t all those extra oils be listed in the ingredients?

  8. Everybody have different facts opinion about olive oil I just wish somebody was right cooking with extra virgin oil changing taste of food making food bitter

  9. I have an Olive Farm in Europe we produce organic olive oil for ourselves and friends.
99% of the "best" supermarket olive oils are mixed with a lot of sunflower or whatever other oil, they the best at investing in marketing that's all! Unfortunately most people are so used to bad "olive mixed oils" that when they see real 100% cold pressed Olive Oil pure it looks strange to them…. ONLY when they lucky enough to taste it, they mind blown!
    But that's the industry!
Get your stuff directly from small farmers and get to know the farmers too, to make sure they not comercial!
We all need to survive but WE CAN DO IT WITH DIGNITY without needing to con each other!

  10. This is illegal in Europe including UK, here they can't just blend olive oil with other oils without putting it on the label. It's true that big brands like Bertolli of Italy are actually a blend of oils from a few Med countries but this is written on the label for those who bother to read it. Also there are olive pomace oils but again this is written on the label, clearly on the front.

  11. Thanks for the olive oil tips. We use the oil from COSCO but now we can get a good finishing oil too. We used to use Trader Joe's Estate Olive Oil and it was quite good. COSTCO is closer.
